Meet Dr. Pestaña

dr_pestanaDr. Pestaña is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico where he earned his dental degree at the University of Puerto Rico in 1991. After graduating from dental school he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Philadelphia VA Hospital in 1992. In 1993 he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. After completing a one year Internship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in 1994, he finished his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico in 1999. In February 2008, Dr. Pestaña retired as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve during which time he functioned as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in a combat support hospital for ten years.

Dr. Pestaña joined Dr. De Tomasi in May 2001. He is certified in both Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He practices full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has extensive experience in dentoalveolar surgery, extractions, wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, oral pathology, reconstructive jaw surgery (Orthognathic), facial trauma, and outpatient IV sedation and general anesthesia. He is on active staff at both Rideout Memorial and Fremont Hospital.

Dr. Pestaña is a currently a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Butte-Sierra District Dental Association, and International College of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Pestaña and his wife Dr. Melissa Lee have three children. Together they spend quality time enjoying many outdoor activities and visiting their extended families.
