What to Expect at Your First Visit
If you visit Sacramento Surgical Arts PC, we will make every effort to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. Here is a basic rundown of how your first office visit will work:
Setting up an Appointment
You can start by calling us at 916-419-4588 or having your doctor call us for a referral.
Our scheduler will ask for information about:- Demographics
- Insurance information
- Reason for consult
You may then be asked to register online.
Day of Appointment
On the day of your visit, you will be asked to bring a referral and any x-rays with you. Patients under age 18 should bring a legal guardian with them. They should also bring whoever is responsible for making financial decisions along.
If you are already registered, our staff will convert you and take any copays that are due. If needed, a photgraph is taken for your chart and x-rays are taken. Our staff will take your vitals, before the surgical assistant reviews the chief complaint and brief history.
If You are Scheduled for Surgery
If you are scheduled for a surgical procedure, our surgical assistant will set your surgery date and contact your physician if necessary. During this time, we can review procedures and go over pre-operative and post-operative instructions. The doctor will come in the room and review your history and perform a physical exam. The doctor will discuss topics such as:- Indications and contraindications of surgery
- Alternative treatment options
- Pros and cons of every option along
- Risks of each surgery
- Post-operative course
- Medications
After your discussion with the doctor, you will meet with our financial coordinator to discuss the insurance and financing options. You can then leave and return for surgery on the appointed date.
